Mr. G’s Recipes-Principal Eats!

recipes

I have discovered a chef that you will absolutely love. An Educator by day and a cooking expert by night, Mr. G creates superb meals with simple recipes. You will love Mr. G’s Recipes-Principal Eats as your “go to” resource for making a simple, but delicious meal. Also, Mr. Dominick Giombetti started a youtube channel called Mr. G’s “Principal Eats” for his students to enjoy while they are confined during the pandemic. But once I learned of his talent, it was time for me to share it here on Doyle’s!

How about a great appetizer with that wine?

Baked Brie with Apple

Ingredients

Apple Pie filling (if you prefer you can use fresh apple slices)

We had a great time at our Wine and Show last Wednesday!  Here is our recipe for the baked brie and apples wrapped in a luscious crescent crust.

Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (8-pack-I use butter flake kind)

Boars Head French Brie (round)

Brown sugar

1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Spread croissant dough and form a rectangle (save one slice  to use for the top)
  3. Place the brie in the center of your rectangle (you do not have to remove the rind-I do not)
  4. Top the brie with your apple pie filling.
  5. Lightly spread brown sugar over apples.
  6. Take the corners of your dough and cover the brie entirely.
  7. You may need the extra slice of dough you saved to place on top.
  8. Press the dough so it surrounds the brie and is shaped in a tight circle.
  9. Take raw egg in small dress and whisk.  Then spread lightly over the dough.
  10. Place the covered brie on an ungreased baking sheet.
  11. Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes.
  12. When brie is finished place on a platter. Make a small slice and surround with crackers for all to enjoy!

Finishing touch:  Pair with Wine Ambassador’s Moonlight Sonata Chardonnay and ENJOY!
