Spiritualist Camps

Spending time at a Spiritualist Camp is eye-opening. I have been fortunate to spend time with legitimate mediums and psychics. Spiritualist Camps are a wonderful haven for those seeking personal and spiritual growth. Similar to the goals of a retreat center, the camps provide a variety of opportunities. It is truly an environment that nurtures your soul. You have the opportunity to meet with mediums, take classes, attend demonstrations and spend meditative time on the lovely grounds.

Spiritualist Camp

Camp Chesterfield

My first trip to one of the Spiritualist Camps was Camp Chesterfield near Anderson, Indiana. Right from the start I knew that it is a place of peace and serenity nestled near the crossroads of the Midwest. It is your gateway to the enlightenment of Spiritualism. The mediums, psychics and healers actually reside on the grounds of the camp. You can actually go right to the porch of the medium to sign up in a book displayed for your use. Though that may be convenient, I recommend scheduling appointments and signing up for sessions in advance, especially if you are traveling a distance.

A Little Bit of History

As one of the largest Spiritualist Camps in the world, you will learn a little bit of Cassadaga’s history by watching this video clip.

While visiting Camp Chesterfield one of my favorite mediums to visit with was Rev. Phyllis Dee Harrison. She has now passed, but she was a true medium. Here is a short clip on Chesterfield and Spiritualism as a belief system. Rev. Phyllis Dee is a featured interviewee.

From 1890, Camp Chesterfield has served as the Spiritual home for the Indiana Association of Spiritualists. It has been a destination as well for countless numbers of visitors seeking spiritual growth. Camp Chesterfield is listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of Interior.

Spiritualist Camp

Their 44 acre campus is one of the largest communities of Spiritualists in the US and the largest in Indiana. It serves as a retreat center for rest, relaxation or spiritual renewal. If you are looking to attend classes with like-minded people, we invite you to check out their website and special events.

On site there is a Hotel, Book & Gift Store, Trail of World Religions, Chapel, Cathedral, Garden of Prayer, and Labyrinth. This is truly a place where I have experienced the best of mediumship and psychic phenomena. There is another place like this in Florida called Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp.

Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp

Another place to check out is Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp. It is a community of spiritually-minded people established in 1894. It is located in the Orlando/Daytona Beach area in Florida. Much like Chesterfield, it feels as if you are entering a place where time does not exist. Seekers are welcome and self-exploration is encouraged. It is a step across a threshold and into the world of spirit. At Cassadaga you learn about the history and the religion of Spiritualism. Let’s take a look at its history.

A “Haunted” Historical Treasure

First, When you visit this “haunted” historical treasure you will experience what is described in the video below. Also, since I have also been at this camp numerous times, I can say with certainty you will experience the paranormal. I have met with mediums and attended services at Cassadaga also. Two of my favorite mediums are Suzanne DeWEES and Stephen Hermann. Suzanne DeWEES an excellent medium and healer lives on site and Stephen Hermann, world-renowned medium and healer, visits frequently. Both are the real deal!

While you are there….

A special place to stay: Ann Stevens Bed and Breakfast

Bed and Breakfast

When I visit Cassadaga I love to stay at the Ann Stevens Bed and Breakfast. It is a beautiful place that is only about 15 minutes from Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp. Even if you are not into the paranormal this is a quiet respite that offers rest and relaxation. Sometimes we just need a quiet break from it all. Here you will find an escape where you be near Daytona Or Orlando, but not in the middle of it all. It is near the Cassadaga Historical district and Mount Dora. Antique lovers will have a great time there!

In addition to its great location, the Ann Stevens House Bed and Breakfast has luxurious accomodations. It is truly a historic BnB hideaway. The inn has 10 beautiful guest rooms and an onsite tavern. I love visiting the tavern and meeting many of the locals who stop by for a drink! Whether you are looking for alone time or a getaway with a special someone, The Ann Stevens House Bed and Breakfast is a perfect sanctuary to unwind and recharge. I know you will relish your stay.
